Giving back to society: C&T colleagues actively participate in charitable activities

Hong Kong, September 9, 2020 - Being a socially responsible corporate citizen, C&T has always spared no efforts to actively get involved in charitable activities to give back to the society. Over the past months, C&T colleagues also participated in various charitable donation programs organized by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Hong Kong, Orbis and Oxfam Hong Kong.

MSF is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, pandemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. “7.7 MSF Day” was first launched in 2004 and has become one of the significant annual events to raise awareness and funds. This year, the “MSF Day for COVID-19 and its Impact” campaign is specially aimed to raise funds for providing medical assistance for COVID-19 activities.

Orbis is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to saving sight worldwide. World Sight Day will be held on the second Thursday of each October, with an aim to maximize awareness of the battle against global blindness. The theme this year focuses on helping eye-disease sufferers worldwide open the Windows of Hope and enable them to see more. On the other hand, Orbis has teamed up with Kee Wah Bakery for a Mid-Autumn Charity Sale for fund raising by providing a selection of festive products, hoping to realize visually-impaired patients’ dream of a sighted future.

Oxfam is an international confederation of 20 independent affiliates that work together globally to fight poverty and the injustices that stem from it. Under the coronavirus crisis, Oxfam Hong Kong has co-organized “Give A Meal: Oxfam’s Food Support Project for Low-Income Families” with various associations for low-income families, aiming to provide 600 low-income families that have children with nutritious meal kits that are specifically designed and recommended by dietitians.

Over the charitable campaigns, C&T colleagues participated in donation and festive product purchase to contribute their small yet vital part to various charitable organizations in supporting their work to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and their existing projects. In the future, C&T will continue its devotion to giving back to the society through continuous participation in social activities and love and joy sharing.
